All courses are led by a fully qualifed teacher who holds additional qualifications to support adult students and  students with special needs.  I am happy to discuss any special needs to ensure that the workshop is suitable for students to participate and if necessary adapt the programme to suit.  Workshops are held in 'the studio' in Weymouth.  The programme for the remainder of  2015 - 2016 is set out below .


2015 - 2016 Workshop Programme

17th October 2015  -  Colour Parfait and Gradated Dyeing
Create 3 coordinating fabrics with 3 dyes in a single container and a further 3 gradated colour fabrics in a single container.  You will have 3 metres of fabric to use in your projects.
All materials and dyes are provided for this workshop at an additional cost of £25.

21st November 2015  -  Quilting for the Quivering
For those who want to learn how to machine quilt and for those who find it difficult, this workshop is for you.  We will learn how to set up the machine for both guided and free-motion stitching.  You can explore quilting using different threads and waddings and have fun getting to know your machine.

20th February 2016  - Blooms for Spring
Create a modern floral panel for the Spring.
We will paint and print the background, then add flowers using painted Bond-a-web, Lutrador and foils.  Learn ways to embellish and machine quilt.
Some materials which are difficult to obtain will be provided for this workshop at an additional cost of £10.

12th March 2016  - 'Graffiti' Quilting
Have fun exploring machine quilting in a freely expressive form.  Create a small quilted panel using 'graffiti' style stitching.  it's fun, free and bold.  You just need a theme to work from.

9th April 2016  -  Colour Gradations
Use 2 dyes and 4 bowls to create 24 different coloured fabrics an a colour family to use in your projects.
All materials and dyes are provided for this workshop at an additional cost of £25

14th May 2016  -  Explorations with Markal
Learn how to design and cut simple stencils to use with Markal Paintstiks.  Stencil a floral panel and add stitch to quilt and embellish.
Some materials and markal can be provided for this workshop at an additional cost of £5

11th June 2016  -  The Colour Wheel
Dye the 12 colours of the colour wheel using only the primary colours of red, blue and yellow.  This workshop teaches the relationships of colour and how they work in your quilting.
All materials and dyes are provided for this workshop at an additional cost of £25

9th July 2016  -  Fractured Logs
A log cabin workshop with a twist, which includes lots of slicing and restitching to develop a very intricate looking design.  it's easier than you think - so why not give it a try!  You'll be amazed at what you can do.

10th September 2016  -  Dyeing Neutrals
Learn how to dye neutral colours, browns and greys using only the primary colours and black.
All materials and dyes are provided for this workshop at an additional cost of £25.

8th October 2016  - Book Covers
Why not create a beautiful gift for family and friends by creating your own fabric book cover for a diary or notebook.  Use fabric, paints, heat reactive materials, hand and machine stitching, beading and many more  to create this unique gift.
I will have some of the more unusual materials you can use available on the day at  small cost.

12th Novemeber 2016  - Sashiko Christmas
Learn the art of Sashiko stitching using traditional and Christmas themed designs. 
Create a table runner or table mats for Christmas for a simple but stylish table setting




Cost of each workshop is £35 Money is payable on booking.  Should you need to cancel your place, I will refund your money less a £5 administration charge.  If cancellation is within 10 days of workshop the will be no refund unless the space can be filled.   A list of requirements and map will be sent to you prior to the workshop by email or post if no email address is provided.  Where materials are difficult to obtain, I will supply for a charge.  This will be noted on your requirements sheet.   There will be a maximum of 8 spaces on each workshop.  Tea, coffee and biscuits are available throughout the day and included in the cost, but you will need to make provision for your own lunch.


Weekly Classes
Weekly classes are also held at the studio where students learn and develop their skills of patchwork and quilting.  These classes are suitable for both experienced quilters and beginners.  I have various projects developing various skills for students to work with.Classes are set out in 3 terms
Beginning  September (12 weeks), January (12 weeks), April/May (12 weeks)
Currently fees for these classes are £45 per term.
